Turn on, off or edit a vacation response in Yahoo Mail

Set up a vacation response to let your contacts know why you're away or out of the office and when to expect you back. Set up separate responses to be used for different domains, such as one for your Yahoo email and another for your Gmail account. Learn how to set up your vacation response.

Turn on a vacation response

  1. Click on the Settings icon Image of the Settings icon. | select More settings Image of the More icon..
  2. Click Vacation response.
  3. Toggle on Image of the 'toggle settings off' icon.  Enable vacation response.
  4. Select the dates you want it active.
  5. Enter your response message.
  6. Click Save.

Remove a vacation response

  1. Click on the Settings icon Image of the Settings icon. | select More settings Image of the More icon..
  2. Click Vacation response.
  3. Select your  Image of the vacation icon Vacation response.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page | click Remove vacation response.
  5. Click Remove.

Edit or add a custom vacation response

  1. Click on the Settings icon Image of the Settings icon. | select More settings Image of the More icon..
  2. Click Vacation response.
  3. Select the vacation response Image of the vacation icon | enter the new info on the right pane.
  4. Enter your message in the box.
  5. Click Save.

Edit or add a vacation response for a specific domain

  1. Click on the Settings icon Image of the Settings icon. | select More settings Image of the More icon..
  2. Click Vacation response.
  3. Select the vacation response Image of the vacation icon | enter the new info on the right pane.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page | click Image of select options checkbox and select options arrow in Yahoo Mail. Send a different response to specific domain.
  5. Enter up to 2 domains (like yahoo.com or gmail.com).
  6. Enter your message in the box.
  7. Click Save.
